Beams

At Stuart Timber we take care to select the right log to cut into beams. In most cases beams are going to be exposed and it's a good idea to specify this when ordering. Standard beam sizes are 150x75 to 300x75 and 150x100 to 300x100, in lengths up to 6.0m. Special size beams can be milled to order, it's a good idea to allow extra time for this as the drying process can take some time depending on the size of beams required.

Typically once the beams are dried they are treated with CCA preservative to H4 or H5 standard. Beams can be supplied rough sawn or dressed four sides. For pergolas consider our ColourPine beams - Long lasting rich red brown colour that needs no staining - "The colour is in the wood!"
